Owen J. McNeill Jr., 94, of San Angelo, TX, passed away June 18, 2024. He was born to Annie Lee and Owen McNeill on January 1, 1930 in Dublin, Texas. Owen joined the Air Force in 1949 and while on tour in Korea, he met Ae Hui, and they were married on May 18, 1967. They were married for 52 years until her passing in March 2020. In 1969, Owen honorably retired from the U. S. Air Force after 20 years of service. Then continued to serve in the Civil Service. Throughout his time in both active and civil service, Owen received numerous awards and achievements. Owen was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was hardworking and easy going, always present for his family. He enjoyed lottery tickets, puzzles, Word Finds and in his younger years, a good cigar.
He is survived by his son, Robert McNeill and wife Carolyn of Midland, TX; and his daughter, Bonnie Ortiz and husband Tereso of San Angelo, TX; grandchildren, Erica Rowe and husband Michael, Jesse McNeill and Maggie Chavarria, Raven Ortiz, Bristol Nalley, Bradie Leuschner, Brookie Crenshaw and husband Trenton; and great grandchildren, Aurora, Richard, Julian, Ean, Max, and Thomas. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024 in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
