Philip Scott Buhle, a beloved and cherished soul, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 77. A resident of San Angelo, Texas, Phil was known for his hard-working nature, soft heart, and being deeply loved by all who knew him.
Phil's journey began in the suburbs of Chicago. He graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois, in 1966, where he was actively involved in speech and drama and served as the captain of the debate team. His academic pursuits led him to Angelo State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1973.
Phil's career was marked by dedication and service. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1972 as a Russian linguist. Following his military service, he worked as a controller for Gandy's Dairy for 15 years and later at Universal Display/Fixture Concepts. He retired in 2016, spending his retirement assembling elaborate Lego sets and cherishing time with his family.
On Valentine's Day in 1970, Phil married his beloved wife, Jeannie Buhle. Together, they built a beautiful family, including their daughter, Deanna King, and her husband Steven, and their son, Darren Buhle, and his wife Charlotte. Phil's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jocilyn, Isabelle, Ellie, Bennett, and Sadie.
Phil's personal interests were as varied as they were passionate. He enjoyed building with Legos, grilling, baking, and watching sports. He had a deep appreciation for the arts and, in his younger years, was an avid player of tennis, golf, and softball.
A committed member of his community, Phil served as Past President and member of the San Angelo Rotary Club and was on the board of directors for the Concho Valley Home for Girls. His work ethic, thoughtful gifts, and intentional time spent with his grandkids are aspects of his legacy that will be fondly remembered.
Later in life, Phil made a profession of faith in Jesus, bringing comfort to his family knowing he is now reunited with his wife of over 55 years in Heaven.
A committal service will be held at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, located at 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, TX 76905, on January 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Phil's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the joy of family, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
