

Raymond Bannert Sr. went to his joy in Heaven on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He was reunited with his loved ones who were already there waiting for him. The first one waiting was his Lord and Savior, Jesus. John 17:24. The others waiting were his parents, Henry R. Bannert and Ruth Middleton Marth, and his brother, Gary Bannert.He was a member of Belmore Baptist Church. We thank the members there for all the prayers on his behalf while he battled cancer. He fought a long, hard battle with immense courage and bravery. He was a member of the Access Sunday School Class that ministers to special-needs adults. He loved them all and appreciated all their prayers for him.He was a U.S. Army veteran and an electrician. He worked for various electrical shops doing wiring on new construction sites here in San Angelo and surrounding areas. He finished his career working as an electrician for San Angelo Independent School District with his brother, Gary for 26 years. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Cecelia; son Raymond Bannert Jr. and wife Tammy; and daughters Reyna Persinger and husband David and Rachelle Bannert. He has three grandchildren, Katie Perner, Hayden Bannert and Ryan Persinger. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings; sister Cathryn Nelson and husband Ed; and brother Randy Bannert. He leaves a special aunt, Jackie Livergood. He also leaves best friends of over 40 years, Ralph Browning and Arline Gibiser. He has several nieces, nephews, and in-laws whom he loved very much.Pallbearers will be nephews, Scott Bannert, Brandon Ferguson, Josh Ferguson, Gerad Ferguson and friends Ralph Browning III and Steven Thompson.Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Toby Irwin of Belmore Baptist Church will officiate.
