Schu will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of all
sports, playing, coaching, watching . After his retirement he took full advantage
of the time to play tennis and golf . Attending every possible ASU game was one
of his greatest joys, regardless of the sport. He made numerous friends over the
years through sports and was quick to reminisce and tell stories about he and his
buddies’ fun times together. He was a voracious reader and was a frequent TGC
Library patron. Mysteries were his favorite genre, both TV shows and books.
Schu is survived by his son Paul Schumacher, and daughter Tina Norton,
grandchildren River Wyld and Will Norton. Carol Hatley, friend and
mother of his children and longtime sidekick Mary Anne Casey and her
granddaughter Chloe Casey. His brother Ed (Martha Dilts) Schumacher and three
