

Robert "Bob" Reese of Sheffield, Texas, passed on to his eternal reward on Saturday, July 27, 2013, in Iraan, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Iraan Church of Christ in Iraan, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Iraan Church of Christ in Iraan, Texas, with Mike Vestal and Bo Shero officiating. Interment will follow in Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Texas. Robert E. Reese was born on Feb. 19, 1947, in Odessa, Texas. He was the youngest of three sons born to Troy and Ina Lee Reese. Bob graduated from Permian High School in 1966. Shortly after high school, Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1967. After being medically discharged, he attended Odessa College and graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, in 1973. On July 21, 1967, Bob married the love of his life, Karen Joyce Mason, in San Angelo, Texas. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in July. Raising their five children and mentoring countless others was their greatest shared purpose and joy. After graduating from college, Mr. and Mrs. Reese moved to Mount Pleasant, Texas, to pursue Bob's teaching career. Bob taught at Mount Pleasant as a vocational teacher, beginning in 1973. In 1976, the Reese family moved back west and Bob taught at Iraan High School. When Bob completed his formal teaching career, they settled in Sheffield, Texas, where he continued his teaching of the God's word. Bob was a tireless worker in the local church and at Pecos River Encampment throughout his life. Bob owned and operated Reese Heating and Air Conditioning in Sheffield for 40 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ for many years, having been baptized at the Pecos River Encampment as a youth. Bob's most memorable characteristic is his unwavering faith. He never missed an opportunity to share the love of Christ with whomever he crossed paths. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Ina Lee Reese of Bangs, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Karen, of 46 years. Also, by their three daughters, Laura Wade and her husband, Richard, of Robert Lee, Texas, Martha Kingston and her husband, Jay, of Jayton, Texas, and Mollie Drew and her husband, Mark, of San Antonio, Texas; and their two sons, Scott Reese and his wife, Kim, of McEwen, Tenn.; and Ben Reese and his wife, Teresa, of Buffalo, Texas. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Troy, Sarah, and Jordan Wade, Joshua, Mitchell and Brooke Kingston, Macy, Mattie and Malachi Drew, Garrett Reese and Kason Reese. He is also survived by his two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Arthur Reese and his wife, Carol, of Abilene, Texas, and George Reese and his wife, Beverly, of Lubbock, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
