

Rogelio P. Duran, 69, of Cebu, Philippines, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Rogelio was born on September 18, 1950 in Bitoon, Dumanjug, Cebu, Philippines, to Dionesia Casilier Duran and Felix Duran. At the age of 12, he left his family to work for a Chinese family who lived in the Philippines. He would send money home to his family to help support them. When he became old enough, he learned to drive the Chinese family's automobile in order to get his driver's license. Rogelio then moved to Cebu city and became a Jeepney driver.
After meeting and marrying his wife, Evangeline, on July 6, 1969, at the age of eighteen, he became a self employed taxi driver where he worked for over 40 years.
Rogelio had a passion for fishing, he would catch fish and sell them at the market. He also enjoyed watching TV, and was always busy cleaning the house.
He is preceded in death by his parents,2 brothers, Carmilo and Jaime Duran, and one sister, Teodola Duran Saldua. Rogelio is survived by his wife, Evangeline; his son, Michael Duran and his daughters, Marissa D. Zollett and Marichu Duran Wright. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Brianna-Marie Duran Zollett and Ma-Theresa Amahan.
A rosary will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 6 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Ariel officiating.
