Tobe was born on July 19, 1951, to Bob and Dorothy Browder. He grew up on a farm in North Reagan County with brothers: Bennie Hogard, Bobby Browder and Tommy Browder. He graduated from RCHS in 1969. Tobe married Rita West in 1971. Together for 28 years, they raised three daughters: Lori, Cami and Kelli. Since that time, he was devoted to his horses and spending time with his grandchildren.
Most cowboys would say that life is about faith, family and finding the right horse! Those words were certainly true of Tobe. His faith was strong and simple. He loved his family and was proud of all their accomplishments. He never had a lot to say, but always made sure he was heard. He was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. Tobe cherished his friendships. He always remembered their names, the names of their family, and most of all what color horse they rode.
Our Heavenly Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills, so we know Tobe is in the big arena above doing what he loved most and riding the best roping horse heaven has to offer!
His legacy lives on with his children and grandchildren: Paul and Lori Jones, Stormi, Skyler and Scott of Big Lake, TX; Zach and Cami Baldwin, and Cannan of Paradise, TX; Aubrey and Kelli Mayberry and Austin and Acelin of Brady, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Big Lake, Texas. Interment will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome at First United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for visitation. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
