

A Celebration of Sam’s life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Hartman and Jimmy Brashear officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Sam was born on May 23, 1931 in San Angelo, Texas to Wayne E. and Ruby Conway Green. He married the love of his life, Louetta Hartman, on November 30, 1952. Sam proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked and retired as a Retail Grocery Supervisor for the “M” System Food Stores of San Angelo.
Sam was also very involved in the community and loved the outdoors. He served as the Rotary Club President in 1969 and 1970, and was also actively involved in the Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge. He loved to hunt and play golf as well.
Sam is survived by his wife of 58 years, Louetta Green, of San Angelo; brothers Wayne Green of Philadelphia, PA and Mike Green of Sugarland, TX; sisters Ruby Shafer of Honolulu, HI, and Nancy Arnold of Burleson, TX; sister in-law Marybeth Beth Hartman of Grand Prairie, TX; nephews Jim Hartman of Weatherford, TX, Steve Hartman of Katy, TX, and Mike Hartman and Con Hartman, both of San Angelo; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service will be Brad Hartman, Steven Hartman, Kurt Heidmann, Erik Hartman, Dennis Green, and Tim Rodriguez.
