During their assignment in Columbia, SC, she gave birth to their oldest son, John Abe March IV (Bub) in 1943. She and Jock returned to San Angelo to raise their family, and lived here the rest of their lives.
Her second son, William Gary (Bill) was born in 1948. From that time on her home and large back yard were the hubs of activity for a myriad of little boys.

She counted among her closest friends Agnes Holland Balfour, Jean Stone Britt, Ruth Lott, and Jean Millspaugh. She traveled extensively with friends and family and her journeys to Africa, Hong Kong, and South America were a source of great delight.
