Bernice was born on August 3, 1928 in Wills Point, Tx to Charlie and Claudia McManus. She grew up on the farm, but at 17 years old she gladly left the farm behind and went to Dallas to live with her sister. She met her lifelong partner William Lathan Caudle at First Baptist Church Dallas in 1945 and was married to him on Dec 19, 1946. They lived in Dallas, Lubbock, Daingerfield, and San Angelo Tx.
They spent the majority of their lives in San Angelo raising their family. Family was everything to Bernice and she dedicated her life to raising her two children. More recently, she loved spending time spoiling her 2 beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice never missed a school concert, school program, baseball game, piano recital, soccer game, dance recital, or graduation involving her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren.
She was a homemaker until 1965, and then went to work for Newsfoto Publishing Co for 20 years, and retired in 1985.
She and Lathan were long time faithful members of Park Heights Baptist Church (also known as The Heights) where she served as the church hostess for 4 years and also held many jobs in Sunday School.
In 2018, Bernice left her long time home in San Angelo and moved to the DFW area to be closer to family. She loved being close to her family again and looked forward to each day spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, Father, Mother, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. She is survived by son Mike Caudle of Sun City, Az; daughter Patsy Keeling of Hurst, Tx; granddaughter Angela Zepeda & husband Cody of Hurst, Tx, and their two children Avery and Carter; grandson Andrew Keeling of Grand Prairie, TX; and brother, Bud McManus of Weatherford, TX and many nieces and nephews.
