Veta Willis

Veta Dean Willis, 82, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She was born on November 22, 1939 in San Angelo, TX to David and Pauline Lankford. Veta attended Lake View High School and graduated in the class of 1959. She married the love of her life Jack Willis on October 16, 1959 and they had 2 beautiful children together. Veta was a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church and had a passion for reading her Bible, cooking and taking care of her family. She will always be remembered for sewing, painting and caring for others. Veta was preceded in death by her parents DC and Pauline Lankford. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Jack D. Willis, her children Jack Willis, Jr. and special daughter-in-law Carol and David Lee Willis and special daughter-in-law Robin, her grandsons Daryell Pryor, Michael Willis and wife Ashley, Brady Willis and wife Mallory and Jayton Willis, her granddaughters Shonda Hawkins and husband Chad, Ashely Cooke and husband Kenny and Caren and husband Cameron Juarez and her great grandchildren, Jenson Fuson, Taylor Willis, Mikey Willis, Gunner Plagens, David Willis, Blaine Willis, Emily Frietag, Chase Hawkins, Cailey Hawkins, Isabella Cooke, Sophia Cooke, Ben Juarez and Theo Juarez. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022 at Johnson’s Funeral Home. A celebration of Veta’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church 2321 Armstrong St, San Angelo, TX 76903. Interment will follow in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Daryell Pryor, Michael Willis, Brady Willis, Jayton Willis, Chad Hawkins, Kenny Cooke and Chase Hawkins.
