

Victor Raymond Parker died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at the age of 89 years. Services will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 24, 2011; at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Raymond was born in Waurika, Oklahoma, on October 5, 1922, to Aaron M. Parker and Omkie M. Gruben Parker. He was a World War II veteran, serving his country proudly in the 3706th Army Airforce, as an airplane mechanic, stationed at Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas.
He worked most of his life in the bread business. Raymond also worked as a butcher, grocer, and sold real estate in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. After retiring he volunteered with the San Angelo Independent School District in the Grandparent Program.
Raymond took pleasure in besting all who challenged him at dominos and card games. His favorite hobby was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling distances to watch them participate in their sports and activities.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Nick Willberg, Chris WIllberg, Lee Parker, Gary Young, Kenny Young, Greg Tutak, and Kris Jones, and great-grandson, Tanner Young. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond’s 16 great-grandsons.
Raymond was married to Billie M. Abbe, on July 25, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas. The Parkers celebrated and loved one another for 68 years. He is survived by his wife, Billie M. Parker of Midland, Texas, Sandra M. Young and husband, Phillip G. Young, of Midland, Texas, Suzan D. Tucker and husband, Michael T. Tucker, of Artesia, New Mexico, Brenda C. Willberg and husband, John A. WIllberg, of San Antonio, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and brother, W.T. Parker, of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by sons, Victor R. Parker and Ernie C. Parker.
