Wayne joined the United States Air Force in 1952. Throughout his time in the service, he was stationed in Casablanca, Morocco; Avellino, Italy; Spokane, Washington; Wichita Falls, Texas; and spent two deployments in Alaska. Wayne retired from the Air Force in 1974 as TSGT after 22 years of faithfully serving his country. After retirement from the military, Wayne went to work for Ethicon as an electrician. He also retired from there after 20 years.
Wayne married the love of his life, LaVetta Joy (Webb) Adams, on February 2, 1963 in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 1973, they moved to San Angelo where they raised their four children. Wayne coached for Southern Little League for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Wayne had a passion for the game of golf. He enjoyed playing in golf tournaments, but loved watching his sons play even more. In their spare time, Wayne and LaVetta enjoyed traveling to casinos to gamble, they always had fun and looked forward to their next trip.
After retirement from over 20 years at both the US Air Force and Ethicon, Wayne worked for Walmart for 10 years and also worked in the commissary at Goodfellow Air Force Base.
