

Addison Clemons Looney Jr., age 69, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Addison was born on February 17, 1954, in Landstuhl, Germany while his dad was in the Army. Addison was a 1972 graduate of Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ and received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson. As an ROTC graduate, he served in the U. S. Army at Fort Bliss, Fort Knox, Fort Belvoir and 2 tours in Korea. After leaving the military, he had a career in civil engineering which took him to Newport News, VA and then to San Antonio, TX. He and his wife Linda were cat lovers and enjoyed participating in the Society for Creative Anachronism. After his wife’s passing, he served as a docent at the Institute of Texan Cultures using his vast knowledge of history and portraying characters at special events.
He was preceded in death by his parents Addison C. Looney Sr. and Sue Evans Looney; his wife, Linda Kay Little Looney, his sister-in-law Terry Looney, and his nephew Addison Blake Looney. Addison is survived by his brother Samuel D. Looney (Alamo, TN), his brother Jeffrey R. Looney and wife Lorri (Butler, TN), nephew Stephen (PA), and nieces Heather (TX) and Alison (SC).
No services will be held, per Addison’s request. As a veteran, Captain Addison C. Looney Jr. will be interred with his beloved wife at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Institute of Texan Cultures in San Antonio or a humane society of your choice.
