

Dr. Alan John “Hoops” Delos Santos, a retired military physician and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025 with family by his side. Born in Agaña, Guam to Loreto and Amancio Delos Santos, he lived his life devoted to his country and family.
After completing his Medical Education and Training, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Air Force. Thus began a 24 year career during which he cared for countless service members and families with unwavering dedication.
In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing stories of his experiences and creating memories.
As man of deep faith, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores “Maridol”, and their two daughters, Jacquelyn and Jessalyn. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Juniper, Alfredo IV and baby Ollie, who were a constant source of joy in his life. Alan’s family includes his sons-in-law, Alfredo Gomez III and Kevin Caster Jr., and well as his brothers Edgar Ray Delos Santos, and Harry Samuel Delos Santos.
For those wishing to pay their respects, visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Porter- Loring Mortuary West. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. during the visitation. On the following day, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church (6150 Roth Road, San Antonio, Texas). Interment with military honors will follow at 1:15 p.m. that afternoon at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
