

Alan Lynn Ellis of San Antonio, Texas passed away Thursday August 18, 2022, at age 50. He was born in Owtonna, Minnesota on March 12, 1972, to Carl and Linda (Kaput) Ellis. Alan graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he majored in Psychology in 1994. After graduation he was active army as a first lieutenant and was stationed at Fort Hood. While stationed at Fort Hood, he met and married his wife, Monica Galvan Ellis. Together, they raised two daughters, Mary Catherine, and Grace Ellis.
In life, Alan was proud of his work in pharmaceuticals and military service. While he was a parishioner at St. Helena’s he became a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed playing the video game Destiny, watching Star Wars and Marvel movies, grilling, and reading books on military history.
He is survived by his wife and daughters. He was preceded in death by his mother Linda Ellis, paternal grandparents Max and Arvilla Ellis, and maternal grandparents George and Lois Kaput.
Prior to his funeral, a Rosary will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Tuesday, September 13th at 7:00 PM. His funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 14th at 10:00 AM, followed by his burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30.
