He attended Ball High School and was part of the ROTC program. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as an aircraft electrician and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal in 1955. While stationed in Florida, he met and then married the love of his life, Becky Davis, on August 18, 1955.
After his service, the couple made their home in Galveston, Texas. He owned and ran Tripletts Service Station, was an appliance salesman at Sears, and a part time real estate agent. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was in high school and strove to live his life accordingly, with his priorities being God, family, and others. He instilled Christian values in his family and firmly believed that God had blessed him all his life. He was active in church and especially enjoyed evangelistic visits to others. He is a current member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
Albert was an example of kindness and love to his family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone he met. He was wise, honest, a man of his word, punctual, neat, hard working, and had no use for alcohol or profanity. He had old fashioned common sense and was a problem solver. He was a good listener, generous, helpful, a peacemaker, and encouraged others to believe in themselves.
He enjoyed restoring his 1927 Ford Model T coupe and going to car shows and was a member of the Model T Club. He taught many young people to drive. He liked playing games, taking long family vacations to see America, grilling, and figuring out how to fix things. He had an easy smile and liked helping people and joking around with them.
