

Alejandro “Cartucho” Alfaro Moreno, age 54, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Floresville, TX. He was born on April 24, 1970, in Tamaulipas, Mexico, to parents, Matias Alfaro Moreno and Apolonia Moreno Torres. Cartucho loved fast horses. He was a jockey in his younger years. He spent most of his adult life training race horses in Texas where he made several winners. Cartucho had so many friends that he loved in the race horse world. He will be greatly missed by many that he mentored throughout his career. When he wasn’t racing horses, Cartucho enjoyed fishing with his kids and attending their sporting events and barrel races. To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and brother, Matias Javier Alfaro Moreno. Cartucho is survived by his beloved wife, Lana Weyel; children, Braeten Weyel, Lance Weyel, Tyler Alfaro, Aiden Weyel, Piper Weyel, Alejandro Alfaro, Jr., Michelle Alfaro (Danny Villegas); grandchildren, Sophia Villegas, Jose Villegas, Brielle Villegas; parents, Matias Alfaro Moreno and Apolonia Moreno Torres; siblings, Maria Teresa Alfaro Moreno, Maria Del Carmen Alfaro Moreno, Maria Luisa Alfaro Moreno, Antonio Alfaro Moreno, Brenda Janneth Alfaro Moreno, Kevin Alfaro Moreno; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., March 1, 2025, at Talley Road Baptist Church (3120 Talley Rd., San Antonio, TX. 78253).
