With great sadness, we announce the passing of Alfred Martinez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He peacefully left us at the age of 99. A pillar of strength and joy Alfred lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janie Martinez. He is survived by his daughter, Olivia Solano whose devotion brought him great joy throughout his life and his grandchildren, Jesse and Victoria who will carry his memories with love.
Alfred was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He worked as an accomplished carpenter all of his life and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He lovingly built his and his daughter’s homes—but even more importantly than building the houses—he filled them with joy, laughter, and kindness. You could always catch him with a hot cup of coffee, some pan dulce, and probably a lottery scratch off nearby. He will be remembered for the great joy and kindness he spread to everyone he encountered.
A visitation for Alfred will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.
