Alfred Charles Metzger

Alfred Charles Metzger, 89, died peacefully on February 10, 2016. He was born in Luckenbach, Texas to Alfred and Alma (Stehling) Metzger. He was a graduate of St Mary's High School in Fredericksburg, Texas. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954 and was a dedicated employee of American Airlines for 38 years before retiring in 1986, he had love of family, travel and writing.

Alfred married Wanda Julie Bednareck in 1956. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage until her death in 2009. He is survived by his children, Nancy Lynn Metzger and Michael Jerome Metzger of San Antonio; sisters, Lottie Weber and Margaret Kammlah of Fredericksburg and brother, Clarence and his wife, Ruth Metzger of Houston, Texas. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise and her husband, James Pfiester and brothers-in-law, Edgar Weber and Ruben Kammlah.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
