

Alice Redmond Spitzer, age 97, of San Antonio, Texas, died Friday, April 1st, surrounded by her daughters. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Minnie Lee Boldt and Jesse Redmond, she was raised by her aunts in Indiana after the death of her mother. She married John Spitzer in 1947; they were married 59 years. Alice was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters, a volunteer with Santa Rosa Hospital Auxiliary and a member of her parish Altar Society, in addition to SA Needlework Guild and Gibbons Literary Society.
Preceded in death by her husband John Spitzer, brothers William and John Redmond, her great-grandchildren Corrie Fisher and Dustin Fisher, and son-in-law Victor Forestello, Jr., she is survived by her children Pat Tremaine (Mike), Karen Forestello, Suellen Golden (Lee) and Linda Carter (John), grandchildren Leah Mackrell, Bryan Stanchak, and Kristine Frantzen, great-grandchildren Lauren Mackrell, Caitlyn Mackrell, Kory Fisher, and Lucinda Stanchak.
Viewing will be Monday, April 18th, beginning at 5:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, with rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral to be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 19th, at St. Peter Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, 111 Barilla. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the SAMMinistries.
