Alicia de Leon, age 87, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2011. She was born on September 30,1923 in San Antonio, TX to Jesus & Juana Mendez. She graduated from Jefferson High School and worked as a beautician and later a homemaker.
Alicia was preceded in death by her husband, Cuitlahuc “Willie” de Leon; and sister, Eilda Mendez.
She is survived by her son, Carlos de Leon & his wife Cynthia; brother, Jesse Mendez Jr. & his wife, Amelia; sister, Olga Elizondo & her husband, Theodore; numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and other loving relatives.
Visitation will be 6 p .m., Monday, June 6, 2011 with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
