Alicia Campos Perez

Alicia Campos Perez, age 79, was welcomed by the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2025. Mary Alice (Alicia) was born April 3, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Eugenio and Antonia Campos. She attended St. Anthony Shrine Catholic school for her early education and graduated from John Jay High School.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and siblings Roberto, Isidoro (Lolo), Connie Avalos, Frederico and Janie Garza. In 1967 she married Eugene Perez and was a loving wife of 50 years, a matriarch to her 4 children Michael, Patricia (Gustavo) Ramirez, Veronica (Rick) Martinez, Sally, 6 grandchildren, 3 brothers (Raul, Raymond, Eugene Jr.), 1 sister (Rosa) and many nieces and nephews.

From her time working as a young lady at the Branding Iron restaurant, to elementary school volunteer and childcare provider, she greeted everyone with a friendly smile. She loved children and prior to becoming a grandmother, she provided childcare to more than twelve children throughout the years; loving them as they were her own family. Babysitting her grandkids filled her heart with countless beautiful memories. She took joy in listening to the grandkids share their personal stories.

She was an active parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church for over 50 years and attended Holy Hour of Adoration for decades. Aside from being an avid reader, she enjoyed walking for exercise, going to parks, and the occasional bingo/casino trips. Her favorite time was spent with family celebrating birthdays, holidays, achievements, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She lived a full life and will be extremely missed by those who knew her well. Her faith was resilient and her wish was for everyone not to mourn her death, but live life to its fullest.

A visitation for Alicia will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A rosary will recited on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd, San Antonio, TX 78228. A committal service will follow on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 11:30 AM at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78226.
