Alma was an avid golfer and present member of the Fort Sam Houston Golf Club and Ladies Association.
She was past president of the San Antonio Ladies Golf Association in 1966-1967, and 1971-1972.
She served as co-chairman of Volunteers for the 50th PGA Championship Tournament in 1968 at Pecan Valley.
Alma was very active and still working at Earl Able's Restaurant with thirty years of dedicated service, and was retired from Porter Loring Mortuary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.K. "Tommy" Thomas. Survivors: brother, Lelan Ryan; nephew, Dr. David Ryan, both of Trenton, MO; niece, Jane Stoll and husband, Doug, Lee's Summit, MO; great-niece, Sarah Hill and husband, Andy, Columbia, MO; great-nephew, Ryan Stoll, Kansas City, MO, and Grant Stoll, Pittsburg, PA; great-great niece Trisha Hill, Columbia, MO; also survived by a circle of very close friends.
