CMSgt Alvaro J. Dominguez (USAF Ret), 77, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016. CMSgt Dominguez is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Bronze Star with One Oak Leaf Cluster. After retiring from the US Air Force, he went on to work as the Facilities Manager at the U. S. Army Medical Department Museum - Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
Between his military and civil service careers, CMSgt Dominguez proudly served fifty years of federal service. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, as family and friends will attest.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Carmen and two children, Alvaro M. (Denise) and Brenda (Genaro II). He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Genaro III and Osiris, two sisters, Braulia Sanchez (Salvador), Mary D. Sanchez (Emilio D.), one brother, Manuel Dominguez and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 15th at 6:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel; 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX. The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 16th at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church; 2829 Ackerman Rd, Kirby, TX with burial to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
