Amelia M Arriaga

Amelia Montelongo Arriaga entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2021 at the age of 87. Her final days were spent in the loving care of her sons and daughters, brother and sister in her home where she lived for over 60 years. Amelia was born on April 17, 1934 in Austin Texas, lived most of her life in San Antonio and was employed for over 30 years at the San Antonio State Hospital as the Bonham Hall Unit Supervisor. She retired in 1993.

A strong, loving and giving person, Amelia raised her children to believe in hard work, and was known for her faith in God, dependability and generosity. The eldest sibling of eight, she was preceded in death by her father (Santiago Montelongo) and Mother (Eufemia Montelongo), Brothers (Johnny, Raymond and Manuel Montelongo). She is survived by her sons (Larry and Ray), Daughters (Eneida Marie and Jo Ann), brothers (Jimmy and Hondo), sisters (Dolores and Gloria), twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Her passing leaves an immense void in her family’s lives.
