

She is preceded in death by her mother, Antonia Perez Padilla; her father Raul Padilla Sr.; her brother Raul Padilla Jr.; and her grandmother Andrea Cerda Padilla.
Andrea is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jesse H. Jimenez, Sr; and siblings, Herminia Padilla Aguinaga, Josie Duenez, Roberto Padilla, Cruz Padilla, Ruben Padilla, Lee Padilla Stennes, and Angela Padilla. She is further survived by her children, Gloria E Gonzalez (Melba), Jesse H Jimenez Jr. (Rosie), Julie Ann Jimenez, Raul Jimenez (Norma), and John W Jimenez (Tammie).
Andrea also leaves eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Andrea was born on December 9, 1939, in La Pryor, Texas on her family’s way home to Eagle Pass, Texas from their migrant job in the Northern states. Even at her birth, Andrea was not one to wait.She married her husband Jesse on March 15, 1968, and traveled with him for work assignments from Eagle Pass, Texas to Victoria, El Paso, and finally staying and retiring from his job in San Antonio.
Andrea worked at JC Penney, HEB, Wyatts Cafeteria and Luby’s, much to the joy of her children who enjoyed her homemade renditions of famous recipes and delicious entrees and desserts from her work.Mr. and Mrs. Jimenez were generous guardians for several children who needed a temporary home. Cousins and even children of friends benefited from the Jimenez household. In addition, The Jimenez’s were members of the Edgewood Veterans Association, American Legion, volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels, and provided rides for the elderly.
For her leisure, Andrea loved to tend to her plants and flowers, and sewing, having made blankets for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and enjoyed numerous sporting events for her children and grandchildren. Her biggest joy came from hosting her whole family for meals and texting a good morning to everyone.
Andrea will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
