Andrew was born in San Antonio, Texas to Alejandro and Teresa Caylao on October 31, 1939. He served faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a proud retired Vietnam Veteran. After his military career, he earned his Associates Degree in Law Enforcement and worked as an Airport Police and Operations Manager at the San Antonio International Airport. He had a passion for music, movies, and karate. He also enjoyed leading worship and serving at his local church.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Teresa Caylao; his wife, Martha Caylao; his sisters, Tina Caylao and Nena Goode; his brothers Tony Caylao, Johnny Caylao, Pete Martinez, Jesse Martinez, and Richard Martinez; his former wife Evangelina Caylao and their daughter, Lindy Caylao Avila.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann Barney and Laura Ramirez; his brothers, Alex Caylao and Joe Caylao; his children, Teri Salazar, Andrew Caylao Jr, Margaret Cid, Dorothy Caylao-Jones, and Jeannie Terry; and over 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
