

She graduated in 1965 from Concord High School in Massachusetts and attended the University of Maryland, College Park where she graduated in 1970 with Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Sociology and German. Anita was a most loving and devoted grandmother, dedicated mother and faithful wife. As a devoted Air Force spouse, she always put the needs of others ahead of herself, taking the best of care of all she came in contact with. An avid volunteer, Anita was always at the forefront in supporting Air Force family events and programs. She was the driving force behind the nurturing and development of three wonderful and highly successful children and a phenomenal grandmother to eight fantastic grand children.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Velican.
Anita is survived by her beloved husband and soul mate of over 43 years, Colonel (Ret) Dennis C. LeVan; daughters, Kathleen Day, Jaclyn LeVan and son, Doug LeVan; five gorgeous granddaughters, Katelyn, Emileigh, MacKenzie, Alyse and Raegan and three phenomenal grandsons, Kyle, Kody and Brody. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia and Susan of Sacremento CA, and brother, John of Upper Marlboro, MD; daughter in law, Sherri LeVan of Papillion, NE; sons-in-law, Adam Day of Chelsea Alabama and Nemat Dadfar of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Martha LeVan of Fairfax, VA; nieces and nephews, Cathy Rudder, Caren Reardon, Jennifer Rooker, Merry Pantlick, Kate Lennon, Amanda Bannister, John Eddy, Cara Eddy, Ginger Richards, and Richard LeVan.
A Celebration of Life reception will follow the Memorial Service.
