Ann was born in Fargo, North Dakota to Leonard and Genevieve (Raisler) Trinka on December 5, 1962. She attended school and graduated as class valedictorian from Lidgerwood, North Dakota Public School in 1981 where she started her basketball career with the Lidgerwood Cardinals. Ann is celebrated in the Lidgerwood School Hall of Fame as an Academic All American in Women’s Basketball. From high school she was recruited and received a scholarship to play basketball and attend college at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, in four years, while playing Division 1 basketball.
Ann had a successful career at ExxonMobil, where she excelled and advanced to increasing levels of responsibility over more than three decades with the company. Before retiring in 2019, one of Ann’s last jobs was her favorite, and most challenging. Ann led multiple international teams in the US, Hungary, Czech Republic, Brazil, Argentina, Singapore and Thailand, where she spent countless hours on conference calls and traveling to the corners of the earth to visit her teams.
Ann excelled at everything she did. She was an amazing mom, an excellent cook, created amazing art (oil paintings, in particular), played the piano, and enhanced everything she touched. For those who know her, you know she managed the household and her volunteer work with the same attention to detail as her corporate roles. She was usually three steps ahead of those around her. Ann used these same skills to oversee the construction of her beautiful retirement home on the river in Wimberley, TX, where she enjoyed spending time on the back porch, enjoying the view and playing disc jockey for family and friends. Ann’s favorite activity was sharing her love of food with family and her wonderful friends from around the world.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 31 years Greg [Wimberley, Texas]; son Ethan [Houston, Texas]; daughter Mia [College Station, Texas]; sisters Jane Wasvick and husband Don Johnson [Detroit Lakes, Minnesota], and Nancy Trinka and husband Ed Dotzenrod, [Wyndmere, North Dakota and Lake Lizzie, Minnesota]; brothers Robert Trinka and wife Dory, [Alpharetta, Georgia], and Jim Trinka and wife Piya, [Alexandria, Virginia]; brother-in-law/sister-in-law Pete and Veronica Molidor, [Georgetown, Texas]; and all the extended families and amazing friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Gen Trinka; brother-in-law Mike Wasvick; father-in-law William (Bill) Tuckwood; and mother-in-law Florence Tuckwood.
