She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken Fleenor, with whom she spent almost 60 years, granddaughter Anne, and grandson, John.
She attended Western Kentucky University, where she met and married Ken in 1951. He was the love of her life, and their zeal and admiration for each other was absolute. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were blessed with her devotion to family, her sage advice, and her unwavering strength. She modeled poise, integrity, and an incomparable ability to rise above adversity. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always fun to be with., a southern gentlewoman with elegance and class.
Anne was first and foremost a wife and a mother. She survived many hardships in her life, including raising five children on her own, ranging in age from 7-15, for over five years while Ken was first missing, then declared a prisoner of war in Vietnam. She was reunited with him in March of 1973, and they spent the next 36 years traveling, spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and living and loving life together.
Anne and Ken had a multitude of friends from all over the world. Few could claim even half the number of the friends that they had. She was loyal to her friends, and was looked up to as a mentor, a confidante, and a wise and thoughtful advisor.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Kathy and husband Duane; son, John and wife Mary; daughter, Patti and husband James; daughter, Kerry; and daughter Kay and husband Mike.
