Anne Becker Yeargain

Anne Becker Yeargain, age 95, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born January 5, 1928 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to May Crawford and Pierre Johnson Becker. She attended Brenau College and Louisiana State University, and also maintained lifelong ties with classmates from Saint Joseph’s Academy in Baton Rouge where she attended high school.

As a military wife, Anne traveled widely in the United States and Europe, settling in San Antonio in 1965. For several years she was a realtor in her own real estate company. She was active in church and social activities, including the San Antonio Red Hat Society and the Yellow Ribbon Antiques Society. She embraced technology late in life and will be remembered as an avid online correspondent and consumer of technology who dearly loved her large family, her many friends, and her many pets over the years.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Richard Yeargain; her first husband, LTC Houston S. Roby; her son, Scott; and two grandchildren, Jordan Yeargain and Jeremy Rogers. She is survived by 4 children, Houston “Skip” Roby, Claiborne “Clay” Roby. Mary Anne Roberge, and Martin “Beaux” Roby; 4 stepchildren, Richard Yeargain Jr., Rebecca Yeargain, Janet Rogers, and Karen Watson; as well as numerous grand- and great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and a beloved dog, Rosie. She was very proud of her Becker family heritage and credited this for her happy and positive outlook on life. Her greatest joy was to host an annual Christmas gathering for her extended family, to whom she was known as “Honey,” and she spent most of each year preparing for it. Her beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
