Annette Perry, a beacon of loving-kindness and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on March 12, 1947, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Annette's life was a testament to her selfless dedication to serving others and her profound commitment to her spiritual beliefs.
Annette was a cherished daughter of the late Harold and Ann (Martin) Perry, whose values and love shaped her into the extraordinary individual remembered by all. Though she walked through life without her parents in her later years, the legacy of their nurturing lived on through her actions and the warmth she extended to everyone she encountered.
Her academic journey was as impressive as her career, with Annette earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Ouachita Baptist University, a master’s degree in counseling from Henderson State University, and an MRE in Education Administration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. These accomplishments were not mere accolades but the foundation upon which she built a life of service and care.
Annette's professional life was a reflection of her passion for helping those in need. She worked tirelessly at the Center of Health Care Services of Bexar County and Central Texas Outreach Services of Bexar County, where she touched the lives of countless individuals through her empathy and expertise. Her commitment to the Southern Baptist community was profound, and she lived her faith through action as she served as a missionary in Senegal, Africa, sharing her light and love across continents.
Beyond her professional and spiritual endeavors, Annette was an individual of diverse interests and talents. She was an avid fisher, finding peace and solace in the gentle streams and the thrill of the catch. Her artistic side shone through in her intricate gourd engraving, a hobby that showcased her patience and attention to detail.
Annette's life was one of connection and enduring friendships. She is survived by close friends who became her chosen family: Bill Liles, Diane McMains, and Linda and Steve Hearne. Each of them, along with her beloved parrot, Sunshine, held a special place in her heart, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light in their lives.
Her presence was a gift to this world, and those who knew her were forever touched by her loving spirit. Annette Perry lived a life that was faith-filled and selfless, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her. Her legacy will endure in the kindness she spread, the lives she transformed, and the serene smile that could light up any room.
As we bid farewell to Annette, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will forever inspire us to live with compassion and grace. Her journey on this earth may have concluded, but the echoes of her influence will resonate for generations to come. Annette Perry, a true servant of humanity and a friend to all, will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
