

Tony was born September 9th, 1959 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Juan Gutierrez and AnneliesaHelbach, and passed away peacefully with his children by his side on April 15th, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 63.
Tony grew up in a large military family living in Connecticut, California, Germany, Alaska and Oklahoma. The family loved bowling, fishing and all outdoor activities. As a young man, Tony worked at the Fort Sill Bowling Center and was an avid bowler in local leagues and tournaments around the country. When not bowling, he could be found at the lake, skiing or fishing. In addition to the bowling alley, Tony worked at Mad Dogs as a DJ. Tony loved all genres of music. After just a few notes, he could tell you the name of the song, who sang it, when it came out and usually had some tidbit of additional information about it as well.
In 1983, Tony married Kim Hutchinson in Lawton, Oklahoma and they relocated to Phoenix, Arizona for his work and then later relocated to San Antonio, Texas. In 1993, after 10 years of marriage, their son Michael Anthony was born and 3 years later they had a daughter, Sierra Rae. Being a father was Tony's greatest joy and he was beyond proud of them as he watched them excel in school, participate in extracurricular activities, graduate from college and begin their careers.
Tony enjoyed a long, successful career in sales working for International Fitness, Bally's Fitness,Southwestern Bell, AT&T, Cingular, Verizon, Tracker Marine, Travis Boating Center and Bass Pro Shops. Tony quickly excelled in each job and more often than not was one of the top performers, both locally and in the nation. When not working, Tony could be found on one of the many area lakes. He was an avid bass fisherman, fishing in local tournaments and across the country, He won several tournaments and made many lifelong friends while pursuing his passion. He loved it when the kids would join him as well.
Tony loved the Lord and was a member of Community Bible Church. He was a good man, a great father and a friend to many and will be missed. Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Anneliesa Helbach, his sister, Eva Gutierrez and nephews David Michael, Johnny and Leland.He is survived by his father, Juan, his son, Michael and his spouse Melanie, and his daughter, Sierra. He's also survived by his siblings John, Joe, Ricky, Patty Meeke and her husband Jeff, and Robert and his wife Camille, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
