

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Dora Alvarado, brother Armando Alvarado.
In 1967, Tony served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, then later became a Police Officer for the San Antonio Police Department, where he worked in the Traffic Investigations Unit and also served as a Crisis Negotiator. After his retirement of 25 years with SAPD, Tony continued working for InnoTech Engineering as an Expert Accident Reconstructionist for 15 years.
Tony’s involvement in the community led him to be the President of the Veteran’s Parade Association; President of the renowned Polka Dawg Conjunto Organization; Elected Commissioner for the Fiesta San Antonio Commission; and 2 years as the President of America’s Largest Illuminated Night Parade in the United States.
Tony loved to play various sports, listen to music, loved dancing, a passion for sweets, and had an infectious personality who loved to lend a helping hand.
Tony leaves behind his wife, Sylvia, of 55 years. Children Melissa and Priscilla (son-in-law Santos), and 2 grandsons James & Matthew.
The family will receive family and friends from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm., Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, followed by a rosary at 5:30pm.
Deacon Frank Martinez will officiate.
