I can't believe its been a year since Arlene left us.  This is one of the last photos taken of her with my granddaughter. I still go out to the back yard and expect to see her sitting on her patio.  Miss you and cherish all the memories.

Mrs. Yeschke was a neighbor who was more like family. Here she is with my parents, Rodolpho and Alicia Carrizales, on Christmas Eve.

What a beautiful testimony today was, to how much love was deposited into each and everyone of us; by this fun-loving independent spirited woman. We were all blessed to have had her in our lives throughout many, many seasons in which her joy was contagious, her independence unwavering, and her knowledge, and determination always steadfast. 
  God tells us that to grow old is a blessing, and that “HIS” love for us is  never failing. Romans 5:8 “ But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Isaiah 46:4 “  Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

God did just what he said he would do with Arlene. He sustained her, He carried her, and he put the right people in her life to ensure that he rescued her. For in the latter part of her days she found peace in accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and found forgiveness in “HiS” Love and by “HIS” blood. Thank you “ALL” for playing an important role in leading her to JESUS. 

We have learned so much from her life, and are grateful that she continued to be an intregal part of ours.  Forgiveness is a beautiful gift that was afforded to us all through the precious blood of Jesus. It is never to late to  find a new HOPE in HIM.  Until we meet again good and faithful servant. I loved you and enjoyed the precious time I was so fortunate to spend with you. Until we meet again.

I was lucky to know Mrs. Yeschke my entire life.  By definition she was my neighbor growing up but she was so much more.   Having Mrs. Yeschke in my life was like having another grandmother.   She was always there for every major occasion in my life.  From first communions, graduations, wedding and baby showers she was always there with a smile on her face telling me how proud she was of me.  I have so many childhood memories of her and a lot of them involve her amazing cooking!!!  My sisters and I would wait by the phone on Saturdays and Sundays just waiting for the call from her telling us she had made her famous "touch of heaven" biscuits. When I would walk home from elementary school I would often tell her that I forgot my key, even though it was in my pocket just to see what kind of goodies she had for me to eat.  Unfortunately my children did not have a chance to meet my grandparents, but I am so very thankful that they got to meet and have a relationship with her. When she had her garage sale I was lucky to have come across her ice cream maker, a bunch of memories came flooding back of bbq's with homemade ice cream.  I look forward to using that machine to make some more memories with my family.  It will never be the same going to my parents house knowing Mrs. Yeschke is gone, but the memories I have of her will last a lifetime.    

Arlene was a dear friend and a member of the Rainbow Hills Area Neighborhood Association.  She could always be counted on to come to our meetings and to bring a desert to go with the
 coffee after the meeting was over.  She was very involved in the happenings of our neighborhood.  She will be dearly missed.  Prayers for her family and friends.  Sam and Kathy Luna  and her friends in the neighborhood association.



My deepest sympathy to Arlene's family.  I know she was very proud of her grandsons, Chris (Valerie) and Curtis.  She also appreciated Barbara and Jim for all their support and love through the years.

The Yeschke’s have always been more than just next-door neighbors, but more like family to us throughout the several decades of life that we have known each other.  And losing Mrs. Arlene Yeschke, after a long and well-lived life, doesn’t feel real yet.  Looking back through photos of holidays, family gatherings, and special times, she is there with our family and is indeed one of us.  Seeing her out in her garden enjoying the fruits of her labor or relaxing in the yard, was just a wonderful sight that we had grown accustomed to.  Now, to know that we won’t hear her voice or her infectious laughter anymore is just so hard to bear. 
We’ll miss her presence in our lives.  From the morning phone calls announcing the good news that she would be sending over her homemade delicious, fluffy biscuits, to seeing her smiling face around our table on Christmas Eve and other holidays.  We will definitely feel the loss when we realize that she will no longer be a part of our festivities.  But, we have faith and strong beliefs, so we know that we’ll meet again.  And until then, we’ll hold tight to our memories, tell those special stories, and cherish those treasured photos, as we always celebrate Mrs. Yeschke’s light in our family’s life and never forget the special person she was.


Ms. Arlene Yeschke has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I'm 43 now, but she was there throughout my childhood as more than just our family's next-door neighbor but as one of the family, sharing in our good times and bad. And she remained an important presence in my life up until she passed. She brightened many of our mornings with fresh, homemade biscuits, and she showed me the value of hard work, through her tireless toiling in her garden and yard,  despite the heat or cold. Her friendly, familiar face and warm laughter around the family table during holidays and gatherings will be missed but will always remain as a special, indelible part of my life. 

We love that Mrs. Yeschke was able to celebrate our daughter's quinceanera with us in October. She was always a special part of our extended family. We will cherish all the memories we made together with her.
