Armando Lozano, lovingly known as Uncle “Guero”, a devoted family man, skilled craftsman, and lover of the outdoors, passed away peacefully at the age of 94. A lifelong independent contractor, Armando spent his days doing what he loved - working with his hands and creating lasting work that reflected his pride and dedication.
Born with a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for nature, Armando found great joy spending time with his sons hunting at various Texas Ranches and fishing at his vacation house in Rockport. These passions, along with his values of hard work and perseverance, were traits he passed on to his two sons, who proudly followed in his footsteps and carried on his legacy of craftsmanship and self-reliance.
Family was always at the heart of Armando’s life. He was preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Sofia Lozano, his beloved wife of 59 years, Amparo Lozano; and siblings Homer Lozano, Beatrice Trevino, and Annabelle Sanchez. His memory lives on through his sons, Armando Lozano II and wife Lisa, and Alejandro Lozano and wife Maria; his cherished grandchildren, Sophia Wikoff and husband Clayton, Gabriella Specia and husband Landon, and Melina Lozano; and his great-grandchildren, August and Wyatt Wikoff. He is also survived by his brother, Roberto Lozano, and a wide circle of loving relatives and friends who will miss his steady presence and warm spirit.
Armando’s legacy is one of quiet strength, enduring love, and a life rooted in hard work, tradition, and family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Armando’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78212. A celebration of his life will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow a funeral procession to San Fernando Cemetery #2 where Armando and Amparo will be reunited.
