Oscar retired from the U.S. Postal service after 35 years. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, music, fishing, and barbecuing. Oscar was full of life, friendly, had a big heart and a passion for working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Henrietta De Hoyos.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ida P. De Hoyos; children, Monica De Hoyos (Steve Barrera), Oscar De Hoyos Jr, Raul Guerrero Jr (Mirette Pichardo), and James Guerrero (Bonnie Perales); grandchildren, Erika De Hoyos, Destiny Guerrero, Emily De Hoyos, Jacob Barrera, Michael Barrera, Raul Guerrero III and Christian Guerrero; mother of his granddaughters, Clara Sosa; siblings, Grace Esparza (Emilio), Carlos De Hoyos (Mamie), Yvonne Castillo, Danny De Hoyos (Berta); and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 4pm at Porter Loring Chapel on McCullough, with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 procession will depart Porter Loring Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral mass at Holy Name Catholic Church, 3814 Nash Blvd at 11:30 a.m.
Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
