

Arthur Robert Casillas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born and raised in San Antonio, TX where he attended Holy Cross High School. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Gloria R Casillas, he enlisted in the Navy. Once released from service he joined Ironworkers Local Union #66. Arthur worked his way up from Apprentice to Foreman. He was elected President of Local Union #66 and held his position for 10 years. Arthur continued to further his career by taking on the role of District Council Organizer to his most recent title of International Union Organizer. He was an active member of AFLCIO and Workforce Solution.
Arthur was a devoted family man, who loved being with his grandchildren and watching them compete in various sports. He cherished his family time, and never passed up the opportunity to take a weekend getaway. In his earlier years Arthur enjoyed playing the saxophone in his brothers' band. He looked forward to family gatherings that always ended in singing, dancing and laughter.
Arthur Robert Casillas is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gloria R. Casillas; three daughters, Tracy Casillas, Tricia Alejandro and her husband Jose Alejandro III, and Trina Lynn Casillas; his niece, who he considered his daughter, Jenny Michelle Rapoza; three grandchildren Elijah Jase (EJ) Alejandro, Jordan Jade Alejandro, and Gavin Bryce Alejandro; Father Arturo S. Casillas, and Mother Atanacia P. Casillas; three brothers, Albert, Eric, and Ronnie (Regina); five sisters, Sylvia, Sonya, Sandra, Tammy (Thomas), and Genevie; and his numerous nieces and nephews. His family and friends will miss him dearly but find comfort that he is in Heaven resting in peace.
