Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Army before embarking on a long and dedicated career as an electrician. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional life, Sonny found great joy in the outdoors. He had a deep love for ranching and spent countless hours tending to cattle and working the land. Hunting and fishing were among his favorite pastimes—activities that brought him peace and connection with nature.
Sonny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Caroline Thomas King, as well as his parents. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Russell King (Amanda), and daughter, Sharon King Burt (John). He also leaves behind three cherished grandsons: Zachary Allen, Taylor Allen, and Jackson King. His memory will be held dear by his sisters, Jacque Brannan (Allen) and Nancy Sands.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on February 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Porter Loring Mortuary - North 2102 N Loop 1604 E. Visitation will be from 10am - 11am and a reception will follow the memorial service.
