Arturo Alonso

Arturo Alonso, born on April 13, 1931 went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2018 at the age of 87. Arturo was born in San Antonio, TX raised in Piedras Negras to the age of 14, attended Central Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. Arturo proudly established a large family and instilled a foundation of family values, hard work and education. In his early years he was dedicated to the church and St. Vincent de Paul. Arturo worked at Kelly A.F.B. for 39 years as a Chief Foreman's Foreman. He was best known for his love of his large family, insight as a skilled jack of all trades and love of music. Arturo dedicated his life to the security and wellness of his family and will be lovingly remembered by his surviving beloved wife of 65 years, Concepcion Alonso; surviving 8 children, Mary Cardenas, Arturo Alonso Jr., Maria Elena Alonso, Ana Folks, Daniel Alonso, Lionel Alonso, Angela Alonso-Smith, Maribel Drew and their spouses; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday December 13, 2018 a 5:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home on 226 Cupples Rd. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Friday December 14, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. for Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Church, 1715 N. Zarzamora. Burial is pending for a future date after cremation.
