Arturo R. Alvarez

Arturo was born in the city of Kingsville to Guadalupe M. and Benilde R. Alvarez on October 1st, 1932. He went to school in Kingsville and joined the Air Force at a very early age. He married the love of his life, Ok sin, on Aug 7th, 1970, while serving in Seoul, South Korea. He was a Veteran and retired from the US Air Force. He later worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Corpus Christi University for 14 years then a journey as a truck driver traveling the Country. He was also descendant of the Angel of Goliad.

Arturo is preceded in death by his wife Ok sin, brothers Guadalupe, Alfonso, sister Hilda Ramirez, various nieces, nephews and his beloved puppy Jon.

A visitation for Arturo will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A rosary will occur Monday, September 29, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 111 Barilla Pl. Alamo Heights, TX 78209. A military honors will occur Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
