Arturo Ortiz Jr.

Arturo Ortiz Jr., born on May 30, 1924 went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2016 at the age of 92. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Esperanza R. Ortiz; children, Charles Richard Ortiz (Kathy Jo), Velma O. Jimenez (Jesse), Arturo R. Ortiz (Maura), Bobby, Eddie; grandchildren, Michelle Hernandez (Jason), Charles Richard Ortiz Jr., Michael Jimenez (Lisa), Debralee Jimenez, Alexander R. Ortiz, Daphne R. Ortiz; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jocelyn, Mikayla Hope, Lanie Grace, Hayden Joy, as well as many other family members and friends.

Arturo served in World War II, and later retired from the post office.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with a committal service to follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Meals on Wheels Foundation volunteers and the personnel at Christus Sister Mary Hospice Center. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either organization. Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
