As a child growing up on the edge of the Irish Sea, Audrey spent countless joyful hours playing on the shore near her home. At 18, she graduated from secretarial college and began her career at Berkshire, an American firm in Northern Ireland. At 22, Audrey answered the call of adventure and moved to California, first working as a nanny for a year and then as a manager’s secretary at a bank.
On July 10, 1969—the day of the moon landing—Audrey met her future husband, David. They married in August 1970 and began a life filled with travel and rich experiences, living in and visiting countries such as Germany and Israel. In 1974, Audrey and David returned to the United States and eventually settled in Texas, living in Arlington, Austin, and San Antonio.
Audrey was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and shared her gift in several choirs, including Northern Hills United Methodist Church. Her faith was central to her life, and she lived each day as God intended with grace, kindness, and devotion.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband, David; her two sons, Michael (Tracy) and Tim (Kate); four cherished grandchildren, Liam, Lexi, Ireland, and Noah; two bonus grandchildren, Alex and Amelia; a great-grandson, Easton, due in January, her two sisters, Kathleen and Frances, who reside in Ireland, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eleanor.
Audrey’s life was a testament to faith, family, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 11:00am at Northern Hills United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Northern Hills United Methodist Church where she and David have been members since 1982.
