

Barbara Kilborn Wright was born on February 11, 1934 to Virginia Aaron and Raymond Kilborn in San Antonio, Texas. She went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Kilborn Hitt. Barbara was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, H. P. Wright; daughters, Susan Wright Holtz (James) and Sharon Wright Henington (Gibson); grandsons, William Wright Holtz (Will), Edward Kilborn Holtz (Teddy), and Jack Wright Henington; cousins, niece, nephews and friends.
Following retirement from The University of Texas at San Antonio, Barbara devoted years of volunteer service to several charitable and nonprofit organizations. She was a member of the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church; past president of the Alamo Mission Chapter of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas; member of the DRT Board of Management and the Alamo Committee; member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Albert Sidney Johnston Chapter; San Antonio Conservation Society; San Antonio Gardenia and Musical Club; past president of the Assistance League of San Antonio; past Civilian president of the Military Civilian Club; and member of the Windcrest Women's Club.
She will be remembered for her enduring love of family and friends, compassion for those less fortunate, and her sense of humor.
