

Barrie Francis Landry, 75, of San Antonio TX, passed away on September 21, 2014, after battling numerous health issues the last few years of his life. He was born, in New Roads LA, September 6, 1939. He dearly loved all his Aunt’s, Uncle, Cousin’s, and Niece’s in Louisiana, who he remained in contact with throughout his life. Barrie first came to San Antonio in 1957, while serving 4 years in the United States Air Force.
Barrie enjoyed fishing, dove hunting, golfing, bowling, betting on horses and playing Bingo. He also loved cooking and eating many different Cajun delicacies. He was also known as “Coach Landry” to many people, as he was a Little League baseball coach at Camelot Little League, mentoring young boys throughout the 1970’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s. He was known for making people laugh, a giving spirit, and offering his advice to all who knew him in an effort to improve the lives of all he touched. He spent most of his business career employed as an Area Sales Manager, working for a Military Food Broker, calling on Commissaries.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Susan Landry, sons Todd Landry and Tracy Landry, step son James Swartzal, step grandson Randy Swartzel, and sister Jennifer Falconer.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28th, 6pm to 9pm, with a rosary at 7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 29th, 9:30am at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial Services will follow at Ft Sam Houston Cemetery ETA 10:30am.
