Beatrice R. Hernandez, age 92, passed peacefully at home with her family on April 12th, 2025, to join the Kingdom of Heaven. Beatrice was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Elivero and Luciana Rodriguez on July 29, 1932.
While raising a houseful of eight children, Beatrice made it her personal goal to have a loving and united family by being present for all the important moments of their lives. Whether it was a first communion, a school event, or a graduation, she was always in attendance supporting each of their achievements. She wanted nothing more than to see all her children succeed.
For fun, Beatrice loved playing Bunco with her friends and cooking large meals for her family and any guests that might drop by unannounced. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and taking them to many places, such as Woodlawn Lake or Crossroads Mall (Wonderland of the Americas).
Beatrice was a woman of strong character and even stronger virtues. She lived truly embodying the virtues of Christ through compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, love, peace and thankfulness by embracing her family through the Word of Christ. She lived in a way that set an example for all in her family, in the hopes that each of them would love one another just as much as she loved all of them.
Her faith in the Catholic Church was paramount in her life, leading her to teach her children how to read the bible and encouraging them to turn to the Lord in challenging times. Beatrice spent a good part of each morning praying for all her children and grandchildren. She held steadfast in her faith up to the last days of her life by seeking counsel from her family Priest and grandson who is a Pastor.
Beatrice joins her loving husband Arturo Hernandez, her parents, her sister Janie Guajardo, and her daughter-in-law Rosemary Garay in the Kingdom of Heaven. She will be missed but treasured deeply in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her Children, Robert (Elsa) Garay, Enrique Garay, Celia (Arturo) Castillo, Janie (Daniel) Maspero, Alice (Estevan) Huerta, Sylvia (Miguel) Benavidez, Yolanda (Mark) Mainez and Virginia (Victor) Arevalo.
