There are no words to describe BJ Kohutek but I am going to try! 
A collection of superlatives and adjectives would undoubtedly fall short to paint a picture of what a kind, sweet and loving man BJ was.
I had the privilege to spend a few weeks of "field development" at BJ's office, prior to being let loose as a State Farm Agent many years ago. My first day at his old location coincided with his birthday so he invited me to lunch. There, I met his loving wife of so many years, Yvonne, as well as Sherry, Robert and Todd. This was his family and it seemed like the main goal during this lunch, for his birthday, was to make me feel like a part of his family. The next few weeks were filled with learning, laughing and understanding the kind of person that you need to be, to succeed in this business of helping others. He had all it took.... love, empathy, caring, enthusiasm, experience, knowledge  and so many other positive qualities.
To his wonderful family- and in remembrance of BJ and a life well lived- our deepest condolences for your loss. BJ was truly a great human being and, his memory and his legacy will live on, in the hearts of all that knew him and loved him.

Words simply cannot express the deep sorrow I feel for you at the loss of your father.  My heart aches with you during this difficult time.  Uncle B was a kind and generous man. I’ll cherish memories of his warmth and humor.

Daddy, your signature is not only written on my life. It's also engraved on my heart. I carry it with pride and honor, I cherish it with love and devotion,  I value it with  respect and gratitude.  I love you so much!

Sending my sincere condolences and sympathies to Sherry, Robert, Todd, Justin and the entire family.. I am so saddened to hear this news! He was such a kind man !  He had an amazing successful lifelong career and he wore many hats in the insurance business, but the most important one what is that of a family man (father, father-in-law grandfather, uncle and son.) 
I know that he is rejoicing in heaven. His is  healed and his body is restored & he’s with his lifelong bride,Yvonne. May the Lord give your family comfort and peace during this time, knowing you have angels in heaven, looking after all of you. Sending Love to you all . I’m here if you need anything.

Mr. Kohutek was my first State Farm insurance agent and longest-lasting while I was in Texas as a adult. I was very happy with his great personality and customer service. My condolences to Sherri and family. God bless.

My first memories of BJ are from when he started with State Farm and officed with my father, Don Breech, in the old Miori Center here in Victoria.  I was in my early teens and would help out in the office every now and then.  BJ was a kind and generous person and I enjoyed knowing him.  I was a great member of our State Farm family and will be missed.  May God bless you all in this time of sorrow.

I was blessed to work for BJ when I got my first “real” job out of college. It was at his State Farm agency in December 1987. He was the best boss as I started my career. I learned so much. He was also so kind and gracious to me as my adult life continued. He supported me and let me have a flexible schedule as I got married, had two kids, and battled cancer. My husband Tony was inspired by BJ and changed his career while in his 40s to become a State Farm agent. BJ was a great mentor. 

Another blessing from working for BJ was to become friends with his family-specifically Sherry Kohutek Sanford who remains my good friend. 

BJ was an excellent example of success-to love your career and to be a great boss. His retirement came with death and a heavenly reward with Jesus. 

BJ will be missed by so many but he left behind an incredible legacy.

We are so sad to hear of BJ's passing. He was always kind and friendly to us. We had him as our agent and friend soon after we were married in 1976 and he served us for 48 years. When BJ's family began to work with him they followed his example and treated us with the same compassion and friendly demeanor. I find it hard to sum up the impact your dad had on everyone who knew him. 

For 40 years, I had the privilege of working alongside BJ at State Farm Insurance, in one capacity or another. 

He was so much more than a colleague—he was a mentor, a friend, and an incredible example of what it means to be a good person. 

BJ always had a positive attitude, no matter the situation, and his calm, steady presence was something I truly admired.

What stood out most to me, though, was his unwavering dedication to your mom during her illness, BJ showed a level of love and commitment that few could ever match. 

He was always there for her, tending to her every need with grace and tenderness. His example as a husband is something I’ll carry with me always.

I will miss his kindness, his wisdom, his jokes and his ever-optimistic spirit. 

BJ touched and impacted the lives of so many, and his memory will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

I have such fond memories of BJ. My mother worked for him for many years so I spent a lot of time in his office with her. He was like a grandfather figure to me. He was such a kind and generous man. He will be missed. Much love to his family.

The first time I met him a few years back, the first thing that captivated me was his firm handshake and warm friendly smile. It was at a Holiday gathering at his daughter, Sherry's home. My daughter and I were invited guests. Mr. B.J. and I connected over our shared farm experiences. I am from Mississippi and have a small crop farm, and he was a Texas Rancher. Over these last several years whenever Uncle B.J., as I called him, came to other Kohutek events, he waa always interested in what was going on back on the farm in Mississippi. He also loved to share his family history and memories of growing up around Nursery, Tx. I shall miss him greatly when visiting family in Texas. To his children and other family members. Your Father, Grandfather, Uncle was a wonderful kind, caring and generous man. I feel your loss, but I also know he will live forever in your hearts.

Sherry and Robert, grandchildren and greats, 
I am so very sorry to learn of BJ’s passing. For over 30 years, I’ve known BJ and your mother too…through State Farm. We have shared so many fantastic times—whether in meetings, personal phone calls, and traveling together. We have laughed, cried, and laughed so hard we cried! 
BJ has always been the most positive person anyone could be around. He always found the good in anything we talked about. 

I will always remember our trip to Hawaii and the dinners we shared, the boisterous laughs (at my expense), and all the fun we had. BJ and Yvonne were the most delightful traveling companions. 

I’m sure Yvonne waited at Heaven’s Gate waiting your arrival, BJ. What a glorious reunion it must have been! God Bless each of you. You’ve left a huge hole for many of us…but we thank you for being in our life.

Dear Kohoutek Family and Friends, my heart aches for your loss. He was such a kind man who was always eager to help me and all our family. We all were left feeling like family ourselves! That beautiful personal attention always made our day. He will be sorely missed.

During the many years that Mr. Kohutek was our SF agent, I talked with him many times in person or by telephone and he always was an honest and caring human above all.    I considered him a trustworthy friend and will miss him.
