My heart goes out to Betty's family and in their shared grief, yet were able to comfort us too. Throughout the rosary service, we'd been invited to speak of Betty, to share remembrances and afterwards, her mom spoke. She found the strength to tell us eloquently of a precious daughter who worried about her mom to the last, assuring her that she'd always be near her. Betty, at the last, invited her mom to lie with her and to hold her. She said, "She waited for me to fall asleep and only then did Betty leave." Betty was so many things; she had qualities of strength, of loyalty, of joy and fun! While we were never in the same office, I too remember her ready smile, great hair, little tight skirts, high heels and those legs that wouldn't quit! She celebrated life. She smiled openly and readily met you with it, greeting by name and always like she meant it...that's a rare quality and gift! She drew people to herself; she had an inner and outer glow that never dimmed. She carried herself well with a joy in her step. She had gusto! She pops into my head often these days...and I know she's hovering about those most dear to her...and all of us who remember. She's one of us, not lost, just only gone before. Now she and God are face to face, sharing radiant smiles. Thanks, Betty...

Betty was a friend who always smiled. How could you miss that gorgeous smile with those big white teeth and those black eyes sparkling. Bette had an impish smile. She was usually up to something fun. She was one of the last people that I saw when I moved from San Antonio, ten years ago. She gave me a big hug. I wish I could do the same for her. I sent her an email about a month ago. I prayed that it would cheer her up. I know it must have been difficult for her at the end. I pray she finds heaven comfortable.

I went to school w/Betty SW High but did not know her very well. I do remember her being a sweet and kind hearted person always w/a big smile. I want to give my deepest condolences to her family and may the Lord ALWAYS be w/everyone who were close to her. I will lift up in prayer to her family and loved ones.

As a mother losing a child, your grief certainly is painful. A friend just send us a message: "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." That was a beautiful thought. This reminds me of a biblical thought that we never want to live independently from God. We always want to be dependent on God for whatever we do in life. Sadly our first parents Adam and Eve decided that they did not need Him and they chose to live independently from him. As a result, God no longer sustained them in perfection. They were now like an electric applicance cut off from its source of power. So in time, they would slow down and stop - in death. They became like a defective pattern, and that condition was all they could pass on to their ofspring. However, when Jesus came to the earth and died for us, God gave us a hope of a resurrection. There is a great hope for us to see our loved ones once again. We learn that by reading God's book daily. May God keep you in his fold and may you find comfort in his word, the Bible. Anita...Although I didn't personally know your daughter, I do grieve with you in her loss.
