

Billy Alvin Stringer, age 77, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015, in San Antonio. He was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on March 6, 1938 and eventually moved to Texas City, Texas where he grew up, graduated from high school, enlisted in the Army and married his only love, Rosalie Anna Barker.
Billy worked for the Army Corp of Engineers and later on became an Information Systems Manager where he took on major assignments in Frankfurt, Germany; Tehran, Iran; Indianapolis, Indiana and San Antonio, Texas. He retired as an IT Network Commander, GS-14, for the Civil Service Department of the Army. Among Billy's interests over the years were Indy car racing, Cowboys football, fishing, travelling and German beer.
Above all else, he was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Holtz and Lucy Stringer; two brothers, Clarence and Jimmy Stringer and wife Rosalie.
Billy is survived by his son, Clarence Stringer and his wife, Milagros; daughter, Marni Anderson and her husband, Rich; grandchildren, Johnathon, Amanda, Cody, Jett, Delilah and Brisa; great grandchildren, Cole, Kylie, Tucker and Morgan and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Sam Vesa and his entire staff at Pipestone Place Assisted Living Home.
We will celebrate Billy's life Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Porter Loring North Chapel. Minister Rex Keating will officiate.
